Oh man, that brings back memories! Used to drive empire grade, ice cream and bonny doon all the time between class when I lived in Santa Cruz (only had a 95 civic back then though)!
A new one I discovered in the area is Swanton Road, which loops up into the hills from 1 north of Davenport, then drops back down to 1 farther up the highway. It's maybe 10 miles long or so. The south end has some deep dips that require slowing down to prevent bottoming out, but the rest is a lot of fun and the north end has some great switchbacks. Nothing but local traffic and bicyclists because it doesn't technically go anywhere or connect to anything.
I also drove Alpine Road recently. It connects from the north end of Pescadero to 35. It is a one-lane road, very twisty and messy, but is fun as long as you don't get stuck behind someone.
I'd love to have a group drive through some of these fantastic roads one day.

That was me! I saw a couple other S's on that drive (felton empire, ice cream grade, bonny doon, 1, 92, 35, 9) but you were the only one that gave me any love.
Passed a yellow ap2 but we were both moving at high velocities and I could only stick my hand up after we passed.
Chased a Ducati down Bonny Doon and exchanged waves and salutes at the bottom. He was riding hard, laying down his knee and lifting his front tire, but you can push a lot harder in a car and I stayed with him. Great day and a great drive.
When I got home my rear tires were worn to the cords. No wonder the S was swinging its ass like a fly-girl in a rap video.

Yeah, I love Pescadero, too, and I also cut my teeth on those roads in between classes at UCSC (I had a 91 Accord wagon back then). I used to drop down into Felton off Felton Empire Road with smoke pouring out of the brakes. I'd have to pull off to a flat spot and let it sit without the emergency brake to let things cool and let the stink die down. We're obviously soul mates!
