The Highway 35 Sheriff-fest was an ongoing man-hunt in progress for a guy who disappeared while hiking or something. It's been going on for like a week now, that's why they had tents set up and stuff. After seeing all the activity, I heard from a park ranger friend of ours about what was going on. There were a lot of young faces searching along the road in Sheriff vests. Apparently they bring in the trainees for these kind of things to beef up manpower.
