Did that AP2 have a front lip with a splitter and was it lowered? If so, that could've been Mike (Project22a) that you saw.

was lowered and had a front lip. don't know who Mike is...don't go to meets

Pulled off Highway 1 to take some pics on 5/18/2009. There happened to be some road trippers from Colorado in their S2K pulled off at the same spot. We chatted for 15 minutes or so about our cars. Another Suzuka drove by as we chatted, and we all waved at each other. Here's a pic:
