So, did anybody go to Infineon last weekend? It was the first time for me. The cars are definitely not cut out for road courses. They looked clumsy and really slow. I was amazed at how quiet the cars are. Also, the crowd was pretty interesting...
On a side note, why does the Nascar crowd hate Montoya? We were there specifically to cheer for him since the last two times we saw him drive was in F1, and he got black-flagged both times. But with the crowd booing at him, we didn't feel comfortable cheering too loudly. Also, there was no Colombian contingent there, unlike in F1.

I was there on friday for qualifing, I had some hot pit passes and was hanging out with a friend of mine who knows the car cheif for Kurt Busch, but I refuse to go there on Sunday for the race, it's better coverage on tv, beer is cheaper and not near as hot.

Montoya was running second for a long while, until he got spun around. The people around us erupted in cheers when that happened, and the guy directly in front of me with "white pride" tattooed on his arms shouted "you ain't going nowhere buddy!!"

as far as the booing; in Nascar if you ain't a Good Ol' Boy (read guys from the south with names like Dale, Buckshot or Rusty) they'll boo you. Jeff Gordon has been the subject of this abuse for 15 years (everywhere except Infineon incidentally)

Now that you mention it, Kurt Busch got booed a lot too. The crowd probably wasn't too thrilled that he won the race.
