Default No front license plate ticket while parked?

Have any of you ever received a parking violation for no front plates while parked? The fine is $100 and this seems a bit ridiculous for me. I would understand getting a ticket while driving, but being parked on the streets??

This ticket doesn't even seem like a fix-it ticket.. is this worth fighting for? Btw this was in the bayview area of san francisco.

Add me to the list of victims

I was too lazy to fight it/fix it, so I just paid the fine, but I would imagine you could if you wanted to...

See if you can zip tie it on. I dont think there is a CVC that says that it has to be mounted by a bolt
