just the basic, im looking at a place in san mateo thats gated, two pools, gym, hot tub, could live without these just nice to have for $1500 (which is average around here

Try where I used to live. Archstone Santa Clara around rivermark area. you'll get your own closed garage with unit. It is inside the gate too. Should be around $1600/month for one bed room. Hot tub, pool, work out area Extra garage is $50 more/month.

thanks for all the info fellas, but my finacee is set on staying close to san mateo since she has one year of school left. but for those in the southbay, i will be seeing more of you since i will be working there soon
