Howdy everyone. My name is Dave and I'm a new s2k owner in the monterey area. (the other california "bay area") I picked up a 2002 sk2 about two months ago and am totally loving it. I'm not a newbie to performance though, I built and raced a 1976 BMW 2002 for about five years on and off. So, you're gonna see me poking my head in here occasionally to say hi, and ask questions. (mainly autoX oriented ?'s) I love the s2k. It's efficient. Very effecient and that's what I love. We don't need a huge 5.7 liter motor to scream down the highway or even drag strip for that matter. We're light, nimble, and considerably less expensive than the "other guys". (though this car is still considered a rich man's car in my eyes ) You know, my only problem with the car so far has got to be the tranny. It's so stiff, and hates second gear when trying to shift any faster than a granny bringing home the groceries. I've been told that this is a common problem for the MY00-01, so I don't know if I can take this up with the dealer. Also, the fact that they just gave me a new top due to the small tears at the bottom probably narrows their willingness to help me out. Anyhow, it was nice to find all of you on here, and I'm learning tons of stuff everyday. Thanks!
