Hello w/ a warm welcome. Great choice of Onyx. I can perfectly remember my first time picking up my S2000 in the evening from a local s2ki member and parking it outside. Kept looking out the window every minute of it. Couldn't wait to drive it the next day after work. Always daydreaming during work and where I would go with it each day. Had the same feeling for more than a year, first couple weeks were most intense. Now, about three years later...I still get excited during Wednesdays which is my Friday. Car wash cruising around SF Bay Area, Great Highway, Stinson's Beach, Sausalito, Fort Mason, Woodside, Monterey, Milpitas and SF Bay Area meets etc... mainly anywhere coastal Didn't drive fast but loved doing burnouts for about 6 months till I realized brand new tires didn't last more than 3 months and it was becoming an expensive hobby. It's like going to the arcades at Dave-N-Buster but instead of putting in 25 X 4 tokens, you had to put in $30 for gas and that was about three times a week. Also, was always horrified of the sound of V-tec(scared the engine would blow), not only that, but scared to see an RPM go as high as 8000, others 9000. My friends would say "GO FAAAAAAAASTER!!!" Was going to sell my s2000 for an NSX-T Formula Red but I always found the s2000 to be much more fun to drive than the NA1/NA2 which kind of gets a bit boring after driving it for a few hours, and I hated the blind spot since each time I always hesitant to switch lane. S2000 was the best choice of all cars I've owned. Welcome to s2ki again. Come out to the meets Dang...another long one.

TLDR = Too long Didn't Read hahahhahah BETTER READ!! j/k!

Vic,
Righteous story man. It's hard to explain the intimacies perplexed through time and space the real bond that develop between man and machine. How can an inanimate object trigger such immeasurable emotions? I've been asked more than I can remember. My simple answer is I find truth for an instance that is undeniable by any measure. A very rare moment in time that few people will ever experience.

I hate to ask this...but how can Vtec pump through ones veins?....its not a fluid nor is it the best feature of the s2k...I suggest looking up the new owners guide and doing some homework on the piece of history you just bought.

It's probably a metaphor. s2000 runs deep within him. Each time V-tec kicks in, he feels that the machine itself transmits v-tec mechanical vibrations throughout his body, throwing him into a state of ecstacy? description went a bit overboard but I'd probably feel the same way as he did too. It's the roaring sound and that v-tec just kicked in yo' rush! I love cruisin' on 3rd gear...

Another thing, I believe a piece of fine, well-engineered, moving machinery isn't only about transporting oneself. It is, an intimacy, thru time and space, with a destination and a story of adventure, to transport the body, from POINT A to POINT B, with style, speed, and passion.

Yeah I should read up on how vtec sucks. The pice of history I mentioned if you can remember "the runs" is how vtec flows through my veins. When having a Honda was a leg up on the current American alternative. If you want to boil down the science vs feeling is simply having unrealistic expectations. Yes vtec makes you feel like its going faster but it really isn't. If that is a factor that is a consistent problem with tuning then I personally would tune something else.
