New rear tires
Hey sorry if I'm resurrecting an old topic, I did try the search feature but couldn't find what I was looking for.
I need to get some new rear S02's (stock size) and my plan was to order 'em from tirerack and have them mounted somewhere in SF. My question:
Has anyone done this recently and what shop did you use for the mount and balance?
Alternatively, if someone has been able to get a similar deal by just buying the tires in SF and not having to deal with mail order, what shop was it?
I'm sure all shops can mount tires on alloy rims these days, what I'd like is for them to put the tires on while I wait. I don't like to leave my car+keys with peeps I don't know. Long story, but I used to park cars at a restaurant when I was in high school back in the day, and... well maybe you can guess the rest.
Thx

While I am not in the City, I DID just get rear tires this week. Tire Rack delivered the next day! Way cool. My local shop charges $40 to mount and balance the set, but your local shops may vary. My local shop is a small place that most S guys would not take their car too if you only saw the outside, but since it has the newest machines, its cool w/ me. They offered to sell me the tires at the same price as I could get online, so iam sure that local merchants could do it. Receiving from Tire rack saves the recyclle charge as well as tax though you gotta add shipping (UPS takes one day)

I just did this a couple of months ago. Rear Yokos from Tire Rack. And I got them mounted in Milpitas (prolly too far 4u), near where I work. $30 out the door. I got the reference on the board too here. Pacific Tire Outlet. Good luck.
