Just bought a white 06 s2k . I now have a few questions.

1. I took it to get smog tested today and it failed the MIL/Check Engine Light. The guy at the smog place told me it's properly a fuse that needs to be changed (my check engine light was off). I just moved from out of state and this is the first time I'm experiencing the wonders of smog testing.

So, really my question is does anybody know of a good mechanic around the Foster City, San Mateo area that can help me with these issues? I know very little about car repair. I would also like them to check everything over to make sure there are no other problems that I will encounter down the road.

I'm going to make an appointment with The Shop, they are about a mile from work so I can drop the car off during lunch.

I've had my car worked on by Joey, and also check out auto medics on 4th and claremont in san Mateo. Great customer service and great work.

Yes, the first thing you do is PM Joey (itS2Krazy) and have him inspect your car. He's quick with knowledge, advice since he's worked on hundreds of s2000's. I used to bring my car to Honda of Serramonte but most of the mechanics second guess on what the issue is(sometimes perform uneccessary work)and you have to pay for all those diagnostic fees and leave your car overnight from a day to a week. I say bring it to Joey's first. He's located in San Bruno.

You can also go to Joey's Tuesday night meets at his shop...I might swing by tommorow night starts at 7pm-11pm? There's other s2k'ers also. I need oil change from him...
