If you're not gonna be gaming, I'd suggest a cheapie Dell. The D610 I have is lighter than my daughter's Mac and about half the price. They're very reliable just the buttons that trigger mouse functions are kinda cheap feeling. Also the display isn't as pretty as an apple. I run my ipod off the dell with no probs.

My 17" HP works like a dream but with 17" you get a lot of weight. Doesn't sound like a big deal for us macho types but it gets old lugging a 10lb laptop around on a normal day. Also, while flying coach I didn't even have enough room between the seats to open the laptop enough to watch a movie because it was so big (not because of my gut!) Also, the battery life sucks for bigger lappies.

I am up, running, happy, freaking cant wait to bolt out of this country. Found direction? yes. its headed east to a piece of land shaped like a boot.

ever go back to that bubble zone place? their food always gives me diahrea cause its so greasy.. but its tasty!
