Default New to the Bay Area, joined the S2K ranks

Hey all, already introduced myself in the official introduction thread, but thought I'd say hello here too. Moved to the Bay area in mid-June from NYC. Was hoping to get away with not owning a car but since the rain started, I've been riding my bike less and less. Been following Rodney's thread but didn't post, didn't want to thread jack until he made his choice.

Owned SUVs ever since I learned to drive so when I finally get an S, it'll be my first car/roadster/manual/Honda. Have been a Skyline enthusiast which I guess makes me a Prince / Nissan fan though I never followed Renault's F1 team. Was a fan of BMW Sauber since my company at the time was a sponsor. However my roommate was a huge Honda nut and after visiting Motegi and the Honda Racing Hall there, my respect for Honda went up a few notches. And of course you have to revere Senna's legacy. TMI eh?

Anyway, hoping to purchase an S in a few weeks. Wondering if the owner of the GPW AP2 below is a member. Seen the price reduced three times so far. It's a decent price thought it's still above KBB. Then again, all S's are selling at a premium now. Been looking at that and a few in LA and one in AZ (only one in-sync with KBB values, price dropped once).

07 GrandPrixWhite 66000 miles $18250 SF Sold

Also looking at:Any input from you guys? From a price perspective, the BB in AZ is obviously the top choice, but I just don't have time to fly down there until late December when I have vacation days. The GPW in Fremont would be the most convenient choice but not sure how low I can get him to go. Especially with the $14,950 in AZ in the back of my mind. Thanks all!

The pictures of the first GPW aren't that great but it looks like the S2000 emblem on the passenger side is a bit off so it could be a possible repaint? Didn't look at the others yet.

Good luck in your search.
I'll look at the others when I get a chance.

I'd get the berlina or the 06 SS in LA. the first 07 Silverstone has a huge tear in the top.

06 Silverstone / 36K on it is my fav. Not a fan of two toned interiors.

Slightly less cocky, just as batshit crazy douche checking in

Hey guys, thanks for the input. White one in SF just got sold for around $18k I think. Been thinking bout the Silverstone, not really feeling that color so I'm going to pursue the black one in AZ first. I figure with a mechanic check / compression test and shipping, I'll still able to get that car up here for under $16k.

Hi all, I'm finalizing a transaction for a 2007 S2000 from Oklahoma. The problem is, I just came across this California Certification page: http://dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures/fast_facts/ffvr29.htm

Since the car has less than 7,500 miles, it's going to be considered a new car. Are S2000s sold in California different from the other states? I assume all S2000s are LEV-2 rated. The example given on the site displays a Toyota mentioning NLEV status.

Will California allow me to register the car?
