Need Suggestions
Hi All,
I will be visiting San Francisco for the first time during March 20 for a few days.
(fyi, I am a new jesersian)
I was wondering what the locals would recommend as for things to do around there. I will be staying in Fisherman's Wharf and will not be renting a car.
My friend suggested me to do the following:
- visit Alcatraz island
- ferry building at embarcadero has a farmers market
- twin peaks
- palace of fine arts
- golden gate bridge
- the de young museum and japanese tea garden
- the bar at the top of the marriott at 55 4th st has a awesome view of sf
I was hoping for some more suggestions from you guys.
If there is any car shows, pls let me know.
Thanks in advance.

If you don't rent a car, most of your activities will be somewhat confined to the northeastern section of San Francisco, which isn't bad. That's the older part of town anyway, and there's plenty to do there.
It just depends on how many days you'll be spending here. If it's more than three, I suggest you get a Zipcar membership. That way you can get a car and see more of the city as well as the Bay Area in general.

You can check out Haight Street area
area is colorful, celebrated and vilified. Most locals love it or hate it, and it's easy to understand why. Stretching for six blocks, Upper Haight offers not only great shops but also a crash course in teen culture and modern sociology. If you're looking for eye candy, inspiration and unusual offerings, this is your place.
