Rim sizes should be self explanatory. 17x7 and 17x8.5 is stock sizes for the front and rear respectively. Offset is how much more the wheel will stick out towards the fender. Less aggressive offset is a higher number like stock +65. More aggressive would be +45. Thats about an inch or so difference.
So it basically depends on what kind of look you are going for. If you want the slammed looked go with a less aggressive offset so rolling fenders and that sort wont come into play. If you want the "flush" look go with the more aggressive offset. Fender rolling, fender flaring, more negative camber and all that good stuff will come into play.

I have Re30's with a slightly more aggressive offset (fender roll recommended) , they basically sit as flush to the fenders without having to flare out the fenders.
17x7.5 +43 offset
17x9 +54 offset
Now if you want the standard fitment (no fender rolling) i believe they are-
17x7.5 +50 offset
17x7.5 +63 offset
hope that helps.

is there really any advantage to getting bigger rims besides the looks?
