Hi,

Was wondering if someone could recommend a shop that can do transmission diagnostic and repair work. I have been recently getting a grind when shifting into third gear(mostly downshifting) on my MY2002. From my researching on this site, it sounds as though I may have bad synchros or a worn gear. I'm hoping someone can recommend a place that can diagnose and possibly repair the problem so I can avoid going to the dealer. I live in Dublin/Pleasanton but would be willing to travel a bit for a good/reasonable shop.

I know RCrew racing does transmission rebuilds. I'm sure someone can get you a phone number... As far as I know they left Brisbane a few years ago an work out of home. I may be out of loop on that one though. You can also try Blacktrax Performance in Milpitas depending on where you live its worth the drive because S2k's have become a specialty in that place.
