never buy a diamond at tiffany's....you're paying 3X markup for the name. A diamond is a diamond is a diamond.
Get something around G color, VS2 clarity, but most importantly CUT well...oh and don't spend $25K on a ring, I mean honestly how long will it take you to save $25K??? If it's 3 months then go ahead but most people don't have $8K DISPOSIBLE income a month

oh and here's a good site to get some prices and doesn't have just generic round brilliant and princess cuts, i prefer the fancy squares myself....

damn charlie BALLLLINNNNNN.....i agree with the people that said 25k is a lot and that if its real she'll be happy with something decent but then again its a one time thing so you might as well go big.....BUT how much bigger can u go than a house?

If the girl won't marry you for just a cracker jack ring then she isn't worth marrying If she'd say yes if you gave her a 50K ring but would say no if you gaver her a plastic ring you're marrying the wrong girl.
I think the 3 months thing is just jeweller's selling crab... it shouldn't matter how much you make, it's what you can afford. So what if you GF is small and have really small fingers and do you think a 5/6 carat dimond ring is going to look good???

Even $10k is on the high end.
If the girl asks for a $10-25k ring, I say dump the gold digger. Unless you are super rich.

she doesn't care how much the ring costs, but I care about how good the ring looks..
