They're gonna try to do it. If they get 30 entries by 1 March, it's on like Donkey Kong. $250 deposit, but it counts towards the events you run in.

I'm not fast enough to win anything but I have been very tempted to join up this year for the experience.

I do wish this series gets more participation than last year. Too bad the deposit requires commitment to all 5 events; if it was, say, $150 deposit toward your first 3 events the series seems doable. But according to 2012's results the max participation was its first event of about 20 participants.
