Looks like it's going to be a warm weekend in Buttonwillow. Are there awnings to park under like at Thunderhill, or do I need to get a beach chair with a built-in umbrella?

Anyone have a favorite track guide they'd like to share? I have the book from the PCA, but more info is always welcome. This will be my first time at this track, and I don't want to be too much of an impediment to everyone else...

What group are you in? Billy Johnson has a good write up on MotoIQ, google it.

Solo (white). I guess the lack of the race group is good for the solo drivers, as there are now two solo groups, which should reduce the traffic.

Were you in the Black CR or the Silverstone with the black wheels? I think I saw you out there. I was in the Gray Civic.

Gotcha, yeah I think I did see you. Great driving, you looked really quick through the sweeper and the "Esses".

Not sure about 'great' driving, but at least my lap times went down every session I improved by ~20sec during the day, which I figure is decent considering it was my second track day and first at Buttonwillow.

Short video featuring my spin to start the 2nd session and a near miss from the 3rd session...

I was in the Static Nine Garage Miata all weekend, testing the new front aero setup. Car still overheats a bit (and the weather was pretty warm) and has a bit of a boost issue. The car also isn't fitted for me (steering wheel is a bit close and we didn't have time to get the sub-belt in). But in any regard, I had a blast.

Car runs a Mazdaspeed OEM 4.1 final drive, so I'm using 6th gear in several places.

Best was a 2:03.7 on Sunday. Sorry for the rattling noise, I think it's the GoPro case/mount.

Great seeing folks out there!
