Someone has me in a video. First session of the day on Saturday. I was so sloppy and driving all over the place. Was getting comfortable with my new helmet, hans, shoes, and tires. Excuses galore:

The track was super greasy at in the afternoon!
I agree. Late in session 4, I went off in T8 after taking the same line and speed as the previous lap. Tires were just cooked at that point. I was lucky I didn't roll it, since I was sideways when my front tires hit the dirt! It's past time for a roll bar. I haven't looked at any lap times yet.

Looking at your hands I think you did the right thing by not trying to save it it once you felt the car really come around. Spinning to the inside of 8 is much safer than going to the outside and hitting that big ditch. It seems like every time someone rolls in 8 they started to slide, over corrected and go into the ditch on the outside of 8 sideways.
Glad you and the car (relatively speaking) are okay after going off that fast.

In the videos, it seems that some of you aren't wearing gloves. Any reason why not?

Is there any reason to wear gloves? You cant argue fire protection when most people wear gloves with a t-shirt and jeans or shorts. Maybe sweaty palms?

If there was a fire, I'd rather not have burnt hands... Avoiding sweaty palms and therefore having more consistent grip also should be a plus.

I wear racing gloves for two reasons. To avoid sweaty hands and to allow me to have a softer grip on the steering wheel, which translates to better feel.
