better drivers ;-) j/k

my experience with NASA was they put way too many cars on the track. I was in the novice group, and they had so many cars on track that it got to a point where it was dangerous. maybe it was because they didn't stagger the start. granted, i've only been with them once, so maybe i just went on a bad day. fwiw, i have no affiliation with any group so i have no vested interest.

Name the track and date.

I'd much rather run with SpeedVentures or TrackMasters than NASA though.
NASA charges $149.00 for four 20-25 minute sessions. Speedventures charges $290.00 for four or five 20 minute sessions.

Four 25 minute sessions =1 hour 40 minutes.

Five twenty minute sessions =1 hour 40 minutes.

I have run with NASA about 5-6 times. Everytime was a good experience. NASA is a much better deal.

No. At thill, Speedventures charges $190 per day, $300 both days and gives you almost twice the track time per day as NASA with less than half the cars out on track at one time. +$30 if you need an instructor for speedventures, good luck getting an instructor with NASA. Speedventures typically gives you 4-5 30 minute sessions. It's even cheaper at Buttonwillow.

I find that NASA's HPDE Group 4 has too many divebombing race car drivers whom I don't trust, where I do trust Speedventures's and Unlimited Laps's advanced group drivers, as most are driving their expensive street car, not their $12 race junker. The lower groups might be different.

Unlimited laps is the club I instruct with the most, http://www.unlimitedlaps.com

Huh?!? The only tracks SpeedVentures charges more than $200 for are Cal Speedway, Laguna Seca and Infineon, which are supposed to be expensive compared to Willow Springs, T-Hill or Buttonwillow. In addition, SpeedVentures is usually never completely full, so they give you the option to run twice as many sessions as long as there is room. Back in May at Buttonwillow, I ran 7 sessions throughout the day (around 3 hours of track time). I could've ran 10 if I wanted to. Even if their events are more expensive, I'd gladly pay the difference for way more track time and less traffic.

I ran at Sears in April with Speedventures for $290.00. I got to run seven 20 minute sessions. It was a blast

With NASA, I get four 20 minute sessions for $149.00

Speedventures: seven 20 minute sessions = 140 minutes at $290.00 equals $124.00 per hour.

NASA: four 20 minute sessions = 80 minutes at $149.00 equals $112.00 per hour.

My whole point is that NASA is a better deal financially. If you only wanted to run 4 sessions, NASA would be considerably less expensive than Speedventures.

I am not debating the quality of speedventures over NASA, or NASA over Speedventures, I am simply stating that it is less expensive to run with NASA.

On a side note, The 5 times I have run with NASA, I have never had a bad experience. They are very strict about passing rules and will enforce the rules if necessary. NASA always has a debriefing after every session. Speedventures does not. Not to take anything away from Speedventures, I feel that NASA is very organized compared to Speedventures.

All in all, I had a great time with both Speedventures and NASA. They are both good clubs

/\ Does this mean you dun't wanna run with NASA in October at Sears???

I may have paid $250.00, I dun't remember. There were four run groups that ran 20 minute sessions. Either way, It is the same cost wise.

There is an event at Sears on September 11th-12th and another on October 23rd-24th. They will be hosted by NASA ( ) The only other club that will be at Sears is Tracquest in December.

If interested, let me know

PS Speedventures SUCKS!!!
