Just remember the insurance company's push is to pay out the least amount of money, not to give you the largest payout. This means to advocate for yourself and keep asking lots of questions.

thank you for the support guys. =]

yamez, i didn't understand what you did, they offered you two options? why was it a bad move if you took 12k? how many millage did you have when you had your car? how much did your car worth?

To clarify yamez' response:

Option 1: 12K Cash - He was in essence, selling them the car for 12K.
Option 2: 6k Cash - They hand him 6k, he keeps the car, and figures out if he wants to part it out, sell it, repair it, etc.

i see now. but why was it a bad choice to take the 12k instead of the 6k? can you sell or part out the car for more than 6k?

It really depends on what's damaged, what parts you have, how good of condition their in, and if you can sell them

Really I wouldn't worry about it until you have whatever final offer they're laying down on the table, and take it from there.

yea you can part it out for more than 6k. his car wasn't even THAT bad.. like with the 6k he got, he could've probably fixed it with 1k to spare..

you can try searching up my thread for my s entitled something with "my car want to play rambo" rims was messed up, i prolly broke a lot of parts underneath, prolly a new suspension. quarter panels was scratched, front bumper fell off, my fenders Done to the max

well i just think it was a bad move because i could have keep the car and have a sickass paint job, new set of wheels and prolly suspension. but i took the cash and bought another s2000 which i have to fix up anyway..

i agree with whiteflash. dont worry until you get the final breakdown. then you decide.

as for if i can sell the parts more than 6k? yeah.. prolly. that would be my 50k miles engine and the stock seats alone. KE KE KE.
