Default My S got slashed

Parked my car in 8th n folsom SF 8-11 n when i got back I found my top slashed n mid console arm rest part detached. I'm guessin that they were trying to find the trunk opener but failed.. Now my top needs to be replaced n it won't even convert down like motor or wiring for it was tampered. Will insurance cover this? Good thing that I had autolock or it may had been stolen.

insurance should cover it, but depending on your deductible it might be cheaper just to replace it yourself.

Yea I have a $1000 deductable. How much is it to replace n also my problem right now is that my top isn't going down: fuse or wiring was tampered. What do I need to look at to be able to put my top down so I can put my hard top on. Thanks guys

^ for an upholstery shop, it'll be around $2500 OEM in parts & labor. If you'd like to put in some sweat equity to save a few hundred bucks, you can get the Robbin's top (great quality replacement). Instructions are here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=448840

BTW, I had my other car broken into there as well. I've a suspicion that it's the frikkin' bums/crackheads that hang out there.

...as well as the cost of an increased insurance rate to qualify for the minimal deductible.

I thought that was only for collision? Comp doesn't increase the rate right?
