Default My Joys of driving....

a Prius.

Well not really joys but amusement. I'm on the road this week and next driving a 2010 Toyota Prius. Oddly I'm only averaging 37mpg. It's mostly freeway at around 80-90mph.

This usual? It's well under the 60mpg rating for the car and until I did some city driving was netting 30. Which is only slightly better than our S.

you must not have seen the "Top Gear" episode where they tested a Prius vs. an M3 for fuel economy around their track. The Prius lead, and went freeway speeds, while the M3 followed.

The M3 got better mpg

Only you would get that kind of gas mileage out of a hybrid

I think the real saving is when they are off the freeway....

strangely enough I was averaging 30-32 mpg with premium gas. I switched to regular about a month ago (to save some $$) and have been hitting 34-35 mpg on each tank since then (about 8 tanks).

I'm super happy that I chose the si for a daily driver
