Short commute will be key for me; I'm spoiled since I work from home now with a 3 second commute from my bed to my computer. Once I know if I'm coming or not for sure I'll reveal the company name (lame, but I'm not supposed to talk about it yet).

Thanks for the advice, looks like there are a lot of nice areas around MV, anywhere with a commute of 20-30 minutes or less would be ideal.

You can take cal train to Mountain View from SJ or whatever. The Baby Bullet gets there in like 10 minutes as long as it doesn't hit anybody.

there is always parking everywhere you go.

vandalism and crime are generally very low.

car culture is filled with enthusiasts from around the bay.

these days, there are no more "ghetto" parts of mv. all parts are nice ever since google flooded the area with money. MV has one of the best 24 hour super sport gyms on the peninsula (nicest indoor bball court)...as well as the burrito triangle.

also... you can consider living in palo alto, los altos, and sunnyvale as they are the neighboring towns.

I live in MV and work in Santa Clara. MV is too suburban for my taste, but SF is just too far of a commute so I decided that living close to downtown MV was about as good as I could get. I'd def. recommend coming out for a while before signing a lease to check out the different areas.

But to answer your orig. question: yes, definitely bring the S. You'll have WAY more opportunities for top down driving, many twisty roads and lots of chances to take the S to the track or to auto-x.

its actually 3 mexican places that comprise of the burrito triangle. right off 101. one of them (la costena) holds the guiness record for longest burrito ever rolled.

i have eaten mexican food from sf to san diego. burrito triangle has some the the best mexican food around. each has their own strength and weaknesses.

if you are searching for value, la bamba has a solid super burrito.

if you like custom fantasy 10 dollar double meat carne asada burritos like myself, la costena is the best. this is the only place i get carne asada.

los altos taqueria has solid handmade tamales and tacos

in fact, i ll probably be eating at the triangle for dinner tonite!
