Default Moving to East Bay, Working in Concord...Recommendations?

Hey guys, I got a job in Concord that starts in August and was wondering if you had any recommendations on where I should live (somewhere w/ safe off-street parking of course). Ideally I was thinking about Emeryville, but would definitely consider somewhere cheaper. Danville/San Ramon even crossed my mind, although it's far away from everything else, but there's more golf courses out there My gf lives in Oakland, so somewhere close to that would be preferable.

I'd be looking for a studio or even renting a room in a house.

Thanks in advance.

I second the recommendation for Emeryville. Close to Oakland and a manageble commute to Concord. The new Bay St. center in emeryville will give you lots to do. Berkeley and SF are next door. Concord/San Ramon/ Danville are nice places to live but these places are more suburbia and quieter. Good luck!
