you will be fine with that budget-- there are a lot of nice apartments to be found in that range (and less, even). consider crossing the dumbarton bridge-- apartments are even cheaper across the bay. it is, however, $2 everytime you'd cross to go to work, but you can get one of those Fast Passes and I dunno how much of a discount it is.
