Default Moving to the Bay Area

Hello everyone, I am planning on moving to the Bay Area in the near future. I have some friends and family in the area, and after just returning from a trip in your area I have decided to make the move. I was sold on the wonderful scenery and weather (that suits the S2000 perfectly); a "tad" better then the Philadelphia area. I am currently searching for employment... I have a BS/BA from The University of Delaware and have been involved in the automotive industry for the past two years. If any of you work someplace where positions are open (especially in the automotive industry), please feel free to let a fellow S2000 owner know about them. Also, if any of you have any general tips on moving to the area (where to live, etc.), I'll appreciate any and all info. Thank you very much in advance.

Jeff

You might want to try the LA area. Honda, Toyota and Nissan all have offices in Torrance. What is your degree/current occupation? That info might help people find relevant positions for you.

keep in mind that the cost of living is way higher than that of philly... like pll said, LA would be a better place for you if you want to land a job in the auto industry that's aside from working for a dealership.

... yes but the SF Bay Area would be better for you if you don't really enjoy sitting in traffic or breathing smog or dealing with the concrete jungle of the LA basin.

SF and the surrounding area is expensive, but if you can get your foot in the door in terms of steady employment, and maybe downshift your lifestyle temporarily due to high rent costs, SF Bay Area (esp. North of the bridge for scenery) is where it's at.

I also am moving to SF in January... I have lived there previously for one year... had to return to Minneapolis for work but am going back to SF for college....

I lived in the Sunset District and West Portal, both i can attest to as being nice areas to live in.... low traffic volume... quiet... near the ocean... hilly... foggy mornings. When i head back in a month i'll be living in the West Portal area.

Yeah baby!

you can't VTEC in LA. You'd be lucky to get your car up to 25 mph on the 405. Stay in the bay!!
