Thanks for the advice, I will have to give them a call back and see if I can drop the car off for them to take a more detail look.

Japan parts as someone mentioned. There is always a b16 or b18 there (f20c also).

Just talk to my mechanic, and he said that most likely are the valve seals and they can be replaced first. The problem is, they won't know if valve seals are the source of the problem and I do not want to spend $350 to do guess and check. I guess I will just have to drive it as is for awhile and getting a new motor next year....probably a type-R motor.. Does any know what's the difference between 95-97 spec and 98+ spec? The pricing difference on the two motors is more than $700...

iirc the 98+ has shorter gearing and the header is 4-1 with a 2.5" collector and MAYBE different cam profiles.

i have a stock b16a1 motor out of one of the parts car for the shop cars if your interested.

also have a gsr motor with brnoze valve guides and portflow valve train, new head gasket and new timing belt for, basically almost a complete longblock

we can do the swap for either one if your interested
