motor is done
I just got word from my mechanic that my 01 motor is done from oil starvation cylinders #3 and #4 are toast. The bearings were all kinds of charred, the spark plugs soaked in oil and an assortment of metal filings in the pan.
So far, I'm having trouble finding a motor. I know the guys at n1 concepts will do a great f22c swap if I can only find them a motor. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice about what to do from here?

not sure, it got to a point where it was burning oil to more than 5 quarts every 1000 miles. then my oil pressure light came on at idle and by then it was obvious the bearings were done.
by the way, this is a 01 f20c so it may have the original 2-hole oil jet bolt (don't have documentation from previous owner of it being updated per tsb). **based on what i've read** it has been attributed with #4 failures especially when subjected to high load for extended periods of time. I can account for the high load and extended periods of time because with 4.77 gears I tend to cruise at 5-6k rpm on the freeway.

i just recently had the same issue you are having. #4 cylinder starvation, and i managed to shoot the rod out of my oil pan...i believe it was a clogged oil pump that caused my motor to fail...maybe some other reasons..who knows.
Hope you are able to source out a motor soon and get the car back up and running.
here's my thread in case you are interested, or want to see a rod sticking out the oil pan
