I usually send card and some $ to my mom in LA. For Mac's mom and stepgrandmom we alwasys go have brunch. Now I am not sure what to do. We had tried different places every year. Nothing stands out. Maybe we will cook at Mac's mom.

My mom thinks that cards are a waste of money. I'll usually paypal my sis who lives with my mom to take her out for lunch. Unlesss I have time then I'll drive home and spend some time with her.

Call mom (stepmother) hope the machine picks up so I can leave a quick message,.. then go on about my regular business. Didn't have the ideal mother son relationship but I'm not bitter
