It's rebate time again...

I may buy a few things... we'll see... I just realized I did around 80 hours of work this week...

Just got a 40D under the program. The rebate puts the street price of the 40D at only $150 more than the Rebel XSi/400D. Too bad none of the rebates are for the lenses I've been looking at (28/f1.4, EF-S 10-20).

I nearly bought the 50mm 1.4 the other day... but ultimately I would love the 1.2 for weddings... it's tough because even at 100 off it's still around 1100 for the lense

The reviews I read said that the 50/1.4 is much sharper than the 50/1.2L so unless you absolutely need that extra half a stop it's better to use the 50/1.4. That was enough to convince me I didn't need to spend 3-4 times as much for the lens, but I am not a wedding photographer. I'm not accustomed to using fast lenses and am not familiar with the limitations in low light.
