A cop can also pull you over if he looks at your tips or shiny canister and they don't look stock. So even if your exhaust is quiet upon seeing you, he can ask you to rev it if he stops you.

Happened to me back in 2000. Put my stock exhaust back on and had it signed off. $10 fee.

I know I'm late but you can get your exhaust BAR'd indicating its within decibel limits. Still got the one for the civic I had back then and there isn't anything the cops can do about it

I don't exactly remember the process but I had to call a number and they gave me the closest ref station, which was at Skyline College.

does it matter if the negative terminal is disconnected when installing/uninstalling an O2?
