I got tagged with laser on 280 doing 85... he didn't bother to come after me. I was certain I was ****ed.

Maybe 85 is the cut? Anything faster and you're getting pulled over.

I've heard of lots of people getting pulled over for less there -- maybe he saw someone going faster?? I dunno.

From my experience commuting between SF and San Mateo 92, I wouldn't recommend anything over 80 especially on the downhills.

Were you planning on contesting? Might be worth your time, that ticket is pretty steep.
