Midweek Thunderhill S2K day
#14
I'm willing to drive up from LA if you can get the price under $200/person. Will they let us run the full course with the S2K's inadequate roll bars, or will they demand a tighter, slower configuration?

UL, We are talking http://www.Thunderhill.com not http://www.ButtonWillowraceway.com
I'm pretty sure there is only one config for TH.
Thunder Hill is about an hour north of Sacramento just off of I5.
OK... I just took a look... there are a couple of different configs.. in the 3 times i've been there though it has always been the full track and I hope thats what we are talking about for this event..
The only config change i have ever seen there was the turn 5 / turn 5 bypass.

UL:
The s2k is allow on this track, as I have run it atleast 10 times. Our roll bars are fine for them.
Here is the track layout, you can't tell from this map but the course is quite hilly.
Highres map: http://www.thunderhill.com/IMAGES/Trackmap.gif
We will be running the full 3.0 mile lap using every numbered turn. No chicanes or anything else other than the normal turns to slow us down.
I also unless people protest will run turn 5, not the bypass. T5 is one of my favoriate turns on the course (Up a hill, make a sharp left at the top and go back down the hill for 5A. They bypass sorta skirts the side of the hill.)
You can see the back of turn 5 here. the bypass this the track lower on the hill.
Here is a good description w/ photos of a lap at Thunderhill
