Machine Rims..

Valley Machine in Livermore (right next to the airport). They'll do it, but you'll have to tell them you are putting the wheel on a kit car or something. Since you are machining the wheel, you are removing your safety factor.
Are you sure you have enough meat to remove the offset??? Check your clearance between the bottom of the lugnut receiving surface and the back of the wheel. You'd be surprised how little is there in the first place.

Fair Enough,
I have been convinced that machining rims is not the thing to do I just need 2mm. Only the left side rubs under some serious Gs. Where is a good place to roll the fender What happens to the plastic that currently protects the fender when rolled? Do I lose that?

I personally see very little risk in doing this, but I'm not an engineer either.

I know the BMW shop EDGE motorworks in Dublin has a roller, but I can ask them for you if you'd like. They set up a lot of Solo type cars. Please PM so I don't forget or call them yourself.
