I saw a TVR Cerbera today up on Woodside. I even spoke to the owner. He told me that there is probably only ONE in the US. I got pretty darn lucky.

I can't find the words. Elegant beautiful purposeful British sports car. But the specs! are just unbelivable!
2200 lbs, 50/50 weight distribution, 420HP 4.5 liter 8 cylinder engine (the engine weights only 121kg, some 100 lbs lighter than the S2000 4 cylinder engine!!! ), 0-60 in 3.9 sec, braking 100-0 in 3.8 sec. Lighter than Miata, it should be able to run circles around the Viper on the highway. And it is a 2+2 (3+1) seater, and the interior is just luxurious. How did they manage to squeeze it all into 2200lbs??? And it is only $70000!!

It just seems too good to be true.

It will be my next car

It is.

Probably the most unreliable cars on the planet.
Went to a track day and a guy there with a Mitsubishi 3000GT had just ditched his - 6 driveshafts, 3 engines and finally the electrics gave up. He got fed up with it.
I've also got a friend with a Cerbera and he's had it on the road for about 2 months since he bought it last Autumn - first it was exhaust, then the engine, and now the electrics.
I've got another friend with a Chimaera (topless TVR) - let's just say that he now has a Boxter S after less than 6 months with the Chimaera.
And finally, I hired a TVR Griffith to take my sister to her wedding (she loves TVRs too). It broke down. I had to take her in the S2K.
On the way back to the rental place, I had to stick my head out of the window as the wipers didn't work and it leaked so bad that it steamed up inside.
The engines and their sound are awesome though, but not awesome enough to make me even think of buying one.

Hey now, that was uncalled for . I have a friend with 435,000 miles on his RX7, no rebuilds. show me a regular combustion engine with more miles on it . It got that bad name because there are THOUSANDS of dumbasses who change their oil every 10,000 miles. You can do this on a piece of crap econo-box without any immediate signs of damage. On a rotary (which injects oil into the combustion chamber) this will run you dry in about 4k-5k miles. Anyways, enough RX7 trivia..

Still doesn't matter to me about the TVR reliability. When I get me enough scrill (money) I'm gonna get me a Tuscan Speed Six. That car is bad a$$ ! By the way, I'm not in love with it because of Project:Swordfish. It's more like all the CAR magazines I have and GT3 . Latez!

Despite it letting her down on her wedding day, my sister still wants a TVR.
There's definitely something special about them, something addictive, and she's got the bug. A bit like VTEC with me. Now if they did a V8 VTEC that revved to 9000 ...
