Default Looking for Roadtrip suggestions.

I'm planning to go on a road trip in Sept or Oct. I'd like to go for 3-5 days, possibly six and see some interesting stuff and drive some twisty highways.

I'd be leaving from the Bay Area and ending up in San Diego OR leaving from San Diego and ending up in the Bay Area (my son will go with me and lives in SD... I'll pick him up and fly him home or vice versa)

One example is a short trip but cool... start in BA and drive to Humbolt to the beginning of the PCH... then drive every inch of it to OC and on to SD then home.

I know a lot of you have some good ideas. Any thoughts?

Yep.

I had a plan to buy a Lotus somewhere in the US where I could find a good price and then my son and I would fly out and drive it home. Since I found one locally we missed the opp for a roadtrip. SO I'm planning one anyway.

Pashnit is a great website. Even though you have to be a member, he still gives you enough clues if you don't want to pay to be one.

Just look for the buzz words and google it yourself!!!

My personal favorite roads are around Carmel (I think it is G54 which is a hell of a road) and anything around San Luis Obispo (go to Hearst Castle!).

Have fun... and congratulations on the new whip!

Ah! I had forgotten about Pashnit. I'll check it.

Funny you should mention about Hearst. mrs jedwards and I just booked a couple of days in Cambria. We're meeting up with our son and his GF and mrs jed says it's PCH all the way!

G54? I can't find that one.
