BTW: there are plenty of aftermarket forged 2 or 3 piece wheels that are larger in diameter than stock and still weigh LESS per corner than stock. These tend to be on the more expensive side, but are worth it, IMO. Also, the tire for a given overall diameter tend to weigh less in 18" than in 16-17", so you save a pound or 2 per corner on tire weight as well.

Well in your OP you talk about painting either 2 wheels, or all 4 wheels painted, so I fail to see how getting them refinished/surfaced is any different or more inconvenient?

i would paint if i got the two different wheel designs to try and make them look more similar. sorry if that was confusing.
and it is more inconvenient because i cant refinish wheels myself.
