Here's my 2 cents:
--PPQ (Asian/Vietnamese style): garlic crab with the noodles...spring for the the miso sea bass if you like fish. (25th/Clement?)
--Cioppino's (Italian style): The BEST Cioppino I've ever had...you can get the crab OUT OF THE SHELL, which is especially great if you're on a date and don't want to have to go toe to toe (or claw to claw) with a crustacean...it's a big bowl and usually enough to share for two. It also stays HOT for a long time...dunno how they manage to do that (the bowl isn't especially thick and it's not insulated either...)

I remember eating at Benihana's best asian restaurant I've had, I think it was a city near SF.

aqua. got a reservation there (i called about a month ago), but ended up cancelling since i won't be able to make it up to the city at a reasonable time that day.
but like vu said, it's way too late to get anything decent. i'd recommend against chain type restaurants like mccormicks. i personally hate that place (at least the one in san jose).
i also enjoy crab house in fisherman's wharf. i think it's the only decent restaurant in that area.

or you can try shanghai 1930, i think that would be your best bet of the 3.

Try Woodhouse Fish Company in the Castro. It's on Market and 14th. Not exactly romantic as it's pretty casual, but it's got that New Englandy seafood place vibe going on. The food is pretty damn good. Also, the Fanny Bay oysters are some of the best I've ever had.
BTW, I think PPQ is on Irving between 19th and 20th, if that's the same PPQ that I'm thinking of - Vietnamese place with awesome grilled chicken and curry noodle soup. Dunno about romantic though, it's a casual Asian restaurant.
