Default loctite

so as the title says, which loctite should i get for my antenna? i'm kinda tired of it just being antenna-less so i want to have it on there. i remember there being a post about 'red and blue' or something.

i also remember justin saying something about putting it at the top of the rings? is there a certain way to put it on the antenna?

Red is permanent
Blue is semi-permanent
If you use red it's never coming off unless you heat it.

If you use blue it's not coming off by hand but you can break it with tools.

Most of these are hand unscrewed, I chose blue.

so blue is the way to go.

now the next question is, where do i apply it on the antenna? all the rings? bottom of the ring? top of the ring?

dude, i highly recommend you don't use loctite... if a thief really wants your antenna, do you really want to take the chance of them damaging anything else? i.e. breaking the threads inside?

well the whole purpose of this is so some random person walking by doesn't just unscrew it and walk away. so far, i haven't seen a single post about 'omg someone tried to take my antenna and screwed up my whole car because it had loctite on it.'

it's pretty much my risk that i'll take so oh well.

It's not about scratches removing the antenna, it's about the wrong type of people messing with your car. Angry people, if they can't have the part, they might not want you to have a nice car. A key to your paint would really suck, and I can't begin to imagine the thread you'd create if that happened

Is there a classy way to remove the antenna and cover the hole?

I'd love to remove mine. I think it looks better without.

do antennas really get taken that often? i've had my car for almost 4 years without incident.

yea, i kinda already answered that question myself.

if there was a way to remove the antenna and make it flush with the fender, that would be great since i don't really use my radio.

now that i think about it, i don't think $7 is worth it if i were to only use like a drop-worth of loctite =/ i only need it for that 1 purpose haha.
