Default license plates

hey guys, i just purchased my s2k recently. she is sweeet!!!!

so i've noticed none of the s2k have a front plate, neither does mine, but would i get into trouble for that?

have you guys ever got a ticket for not having the license plate in front of the car?

You can get a ticket, depends on where you are. Officer's discretion on the ticket though. Fix-it's are about 10-20 but non-correctables will set you back around 100.

For me, I got a front plate ticket parked in front of my house in suburbia.

so did you put on your plate after that?

fix it tickets are $25 now. they went up. I've gotten 3 tickets sitting in front of my house in Castro Valley, off the main roads a good 1/2 mile but never while driving. I've made some brackets for the plate and attached velcro to the underside of the radiator opening so as not to be seen. I just put the plate on the car if it sits in front of the house.

California vehicle code states that if the manafacturer built the car with a front plate mount, you must have a front plate. Thus, you must have a front plate if you own a S2000. Very few cars do not have a OEM mount, ie Charger SRT8.

I think it's actually if the DMV supplies you with 2 plates, you run both front and rear. Only time you're exempt is if you only get 1.. which is never.

Got one on the other car the other day, it said $10 on the ticket with correction

^ You have to pay in Santa Clara Country for the officer to sign it as well
