wow cheng, I'm sorry to hear. That's a ****** joke. That's why I really dislike using bart, it's like a playground for thieves. The amount of robberies / assaults at BART stations over the last one to two years have gotten so out of hand.
It is starting to get out of control. They need better security.

Sorry to hear about the theft, real pain in the ass to deal with insurance.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but they are mostly ineffective. Most people don't install them correctly. The ones that are you can pick the lock or cut them with the correct tools.
They do a good job keeping the average thief away, but to the pro's is a minor inconvenience.

Dammit this sucks so much

Bah is there nothing we can do? Seems like every upgrade one does to security, thieves find a way around it. I guess if they want something bad enough they will find a way to get it.
yup if they (theives) want something bad enough, our alarms or clubs or locks are only deterents....

Regarding insurance, I only had liability on it. So I know for sure it aint covered.

Regarding the autolock, I thought it would have been pretty difficult to bypass also. I locked my brakes (automatic, no clutch).

It will pop up at one of the richmond tow companys in a couple of weeks. I had two vehicles stolen one from school and one out of my driveway. Both were recovered in Richmond. What sucks is you have to pay almost 250.00 to get it out and maybe more depending on how long they store it. HC

Damn that sucks big time! Sorry to hear about it Cheng. The chance of recovering it is very low, but you never know. I had a '90 Accord coupe, pretty much stock, that got stolen and recovered 2 months later. It was sitting at some public area for 2 months until the cop had it towed. All that taken was the upgraded stereo system, and probably $5-10 worth of coins. They didn't even take the bowling bag with ball and shoes in the trunk. Well let's hope someone find yours soon.

Wow, sorry to hear that bro. I used to live about a block from the station. Can't believe it happened in broad daylight. I've seen so many thugs from richmond hanging out around the station too...

Sorry to hear that.

@BrianZ what is the most effective way to secure/protect your car if you have to park it out in the open?
