I used my FSA to pay for a portion of the procedure.

The operation was about 10 mins total for both eyes.

You are awake the entire time but they numb your eyes so you can't feel anything at all. No pain at all.

All you do is lay there and stare at the blinking red light. Dr Hyver tells you exactly what he's doing and what you should expect while he's doing it.

Highly recommended for those of you on the fence. My only disappointment is that I waited this long to do it.
Good to hear it went well.

I had my consultation with him a few weeks ago and i was debating on whether or not I wanted to do it.

Did you get the regular lasik or wavefront? I can only do wavefront because of my prescription and the size of my pupils....

I've been wanting to do this but still oh so chicken...

Of course, I've been granted a reprieve of sorts because my vision changed the last time I went in for a check-up. So now I have to wait another year.

Go for it!

I had wavefront done because of my prescription also.

The operation is over before you even know it. I was glad that Dr. Hyver was the one that actually does the work. He walks you through every step of the way and explains what you're going to see/feel while he's doing it.

Also, he asks you before the operation if you have any last minute questions, etc.

Lifetime adjustments too!

What was your cost? or his estimate rate if you know it, i've had glasses since i was in 5th grade which is about 15 or so years now and looking into lasik/wavefront in the next few months.

-if you have a Healthcare Flex Account available for your employer you can pay for your surgery with money that hasn't been taxed. can add up to a pretty significant discount.

-for those who had the surgery done: what's it like? they keep you awake the whole time? do you feel it?
