Hi, this is my first post.
I'm interested in a S2000 with a salvage title. I want to get the body and chassis inspected. The car is in Daly City. I'd assume a Honda dealer would do it, but I thought I'd ask for some suggestions. Anyone know what a fair price for the inspection would be? Thanks.

a honda dealer would be able to do it, but a frame and body shop would probably be able to do it better by putting it on the frame rack and checking to make sure everything's to spec. and any other automotive repair shop will be able to look at your motor for you, maybe even someone on this board.

I don't really do chassis. But I can do an inspection on it. Also I can have it up on the lift and see if its been in a wreck before. There's ways to tell.

when i bought my s2k last month i called two places for quotes for a pre-purchase inspection. BlackTrax in Milpitas charges $110 per hour and the inspection took an hour to complete including visual inspection (chassis, panels, engine, etc), compression check, leak-down test, etc. they also typed up a report of all the "issues" they saw with the car and were very thorough.
the second place i called was AH Connection in San Jose. they quoted me $98 for a basic inspection plus an additional $196 for the other tests, so a total of $294.
BlackTrax comes highly recommended though it may be a bit far for you. at least this gives you an idea on prices.
