I wouldn't sell the S and get a 997 turbo, I'd sell the S and get a real Porsche... 996 gt3. 997 turbos are good for 1 thing, touring the country at a high rate of speed. The gt3 on the otherhand can do anything the S can do only better and youll have money to spare and might not even have to sell the S
I think top gear has some very accurate views on Porsche owners though... I could never drive/own a current model Porsche for the pure wanker factor.

this thing is a KEEPER! and reading this thread just reinsures the decision of keeping it over and over. if ever it crosses my mind in the future, i'm going to search this thread and read evertything!

Thanks all! and on top of having a great car, it also comes with a bomb community...

I could really care less what top gear says about Porsche owners. I have 2 friends that own Porsche's one 996 gt3 one 996 gt2. Both guys are down to earth and I've driven both cars.

Your friends are the exception, not the rule.

My original statement still stands. I wouldn't get a 996 turbo, I'd get a real drivers Porsche, a gt3

A 997 or a E92 M will be a lot easier to find in good condition vs an S2K. Porsche and BMWs aren't the kind of cars that most people will beat on, or neglect maintenance, but will be an issue with the S2K.

BMW drivers are the worst. The asshole across the street from me has a M3, I hope he dies some day in a horrible crash...
