The S it on the top ten cars to drive before you die. Unless you're selling it to buy one of the other 9 I say enjoy what you have.

i'm never selling my S. i've gone through a few "second" cars while owning the S. this is the only car that i can consider a "true keeper"

Those are tough cars to put the S up against. But like you said, you would need an additional large monetary sum to buy the other two. The s2k gearbox and top down value sf too hard to give up. I would just take ~$8k and turbo/mod the S to compete with those too. I have hard time modding a newer mint AP2 though (like yours and mine). I would feel guilty.

997 Turbo might pull me away from the S. 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.

I didn't realize you said 997 turbo. If I had the resources to be able to afford one, I would purchase it. In a heartbeat. Still would not sell the S though

I wouldn't sell the S and get a 997 turbo, I'd sell the S and get a real Porsche... 996 gt3. 997 turbos are good for 1 thing, touring the country at a high rate of speed. The gt3 on the otherhand can do anything the S can do only better and youll have money to spare and might not even have to sell the S

Don't do it!! your gonna regret selling the S. try to find one of your specifications, whether low mileage, pristine condition, stock, a working soft top and/or proper HT, and priced pretty low. Nowhere. Don't do it ken!

I think top gear has some very accurate views on Porsche owners though... I could never drive/own a current model Porsche for the pure wanker factor.
