I hope she pulls out of it.

That being said... I'm not going to get in to my usual "what would you think would happen riding a bicycle (scooter...) on a Hwy known to have boy racers on it" speech.

And car insurance coverage would probably pay for about 25% of the settlement from someone suing your a$$ off for putting a relative/spouse in a coma. Even a $1M umbrella (which no one gets because it is a ripoff) wouldn't even clear you.

PS. I would stop too... my conscious would eat me to death.

Buddy, the part they're talking about is the stretch of road where the 76 and firestation is that leads to Los Gatos ( hwy 9/Saratoga ave/saratoga sunnyvale rd). That section of road has a bike lane..

Hope she recovers 100%

haha i guess you guys are better people than me. I'm not talking about material possessions and/or how much insurance would or would not cover. I'm talking about ruining your entire life to own up to a mistake, manslaughter's a 5 year minimum IIRC and when you get out you'd never land a job doing anything. I'm all about owning up for stuff but in that situation you're gg-ing yourself for a lost cause don't you think?

and as far as my loved ones are concerned, if they're dead i wouldn't find any comfort from finding the person who killed them unintentionally.

I think they mean highway 9 as in Saratoga-Los Gatos Road and not big basin

We have a house on Saratoga los gatos...but we don't live in that one, otherwise we probably would have seen it :/
hopefully she turns out okay =[

You have a good point ... I don't know what I'd do. I'd probably start crying like a sissy and have a nervous break down
