Default Just another sad day for my s2k...more fix it tickets...assistance needed.

So I'm driving down broadway st. in vallejo and I stop at a light with a stock del sol next to me. The light turns green and he takes off. I go on with my business only to notice a motorcyle cop waiting at the next intersection. I'm thinking "it's ok i'm doing the speed limit." As the del sol and I pass him he quickly turns and follows us. Guess who he turned his lights on? "ME!" So I pull over and he goes "I'm writing you a ticket for not having your front plates, and because your tachometer is obstructing your view. Then he goes "ow pick up your windows" he pointed out that they are tinted. He writes on the ticket that I got 5% on the side windows and told me my visor tint must be taken off. So anyways to make a long story short I just had a bad day. I'm planning on fixing the front plate on my grill to get it signed off. I really don't want to take my side windows tints off how much do you guys think the ticket will cost me? or should I just take them off? Just to let you guys know I got a black/black hardtopped limo tint in the back and front visor and 20% on the sides. What do you guys suggest I do??

Go to the CHP office and find out what the current laws are. I think that the window tint law was changed. That way you can do what is needed for a sign off.

Exactly what I was thinking. What the hell do you need an aftermarket tach for on an S2k? Vision problems?

I believe in CA, you can't have you front windows tinted at all.

Your front WINDSHEILD can not be tinted but your front side windows can. Forgot what the legal percentage is though. Something like...30% of sunlight is able to get in or something?

whoa I didn't think I had to put my flame suit on. but I got a carbon fiber autometer as a gift and comon give me a break. I'm in the process of taking it off however you guys got me thinking. Anyhow I'm also removing all the tints except the one on my hardtop. Or should I take that one off too?? I'm just gonna fix the problem and get the ticket signed off thanks for all the replys
