As long as you're uninjured enough to have a towtruck driver drop you and your car off in the median of I5, you should be ok.

Actually a member here totaled his car at Sears a few years ago and the insurance paid for it in full, because YES, these are driver education events!! You can have a full day of instruction: sign up for the School of Speed, which includes classroom sessions and a gentle, progressive introduction to the track supervised by an instructor.

Look, accidents happen, but they're very rare, especially among first-timers. Remember -- it's YOU controlling the car, so just drive "within yourself", respect the car and the track, and everything will be fine!

See you there!

If you're comfortable self-teching, just fill out the tech form and sign it! (Otherwise, take car and form to a shop and ask them to do it.)

Hey Chuck,
Don't take a chance if you are unsure of what to look for. Take it to a shop familiar with tech inspections and have it properly inspected.

I have a local place I can recommend if you are interested...

No room for dishonesty as one can only hurt oneself or others. This is not exactly an activity where cheating bastards prevail
