Recently picked up a an AP1 with about 210k miles on it..... Clean title, no previous accidents, and runs well. Did a search for trusted mechanics in the Bay Area and stumbled upon this thread.
Contacted Joey through IG and he was very responsive. This is in to contrast to a lot of other shops who seem to not care as much about their clients
Back to Joey.... Of course with 200k miles on a 20 year old car, one would suspect that things are waiting to break. What I noticed right away is that there was a vibration in the back, axle area. Made an appointment with Joey and brought the car by.
He did an analysis and it seemed the driveshaft was failing/broken. TBH I was a little nervouse because I suspected that the driveshaft would be $1500-$3000 if brand new. He mentioned that I would have to get that fixed right away as it was leaking and sparying on the undercarraige.
Luckily, he was able to source the part for a very low price of $300. Labor and everything for a replaced driveshaft and broken diff mount just shy of $1000 out the door including labor. Very happy with this
Also, had him do a valve adjustment. Engine is now much smoother and hits vtec llike it shoulddd
Appreciate it Joey!

Took my CR to Joey's this morning, went in for a valve adjustment + got that, but Joey also helped me out completely extra with the VSA light I had on + got it to reset! Fingers crossed it doesn't pop up again but so far no issues. Adding my +1 to the appreciation thread here.
